Senior Producer – Daytime

GB News is looking for a talented Senior Producer who is hardworking, organised, able to create debate and opinion led programmes that tell the country’s top news stories.

You’d be at the heart of our editorial process, working closely with our Presenters, Producers and dynamic team as we shape Britain’s feistiest free speech shows.

This role is ideal if you’re a brilliant writer and excellent knowledge of news and current affairs. This is not an entry-level position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Pulling together a daily show, casting debates, creating content for our daily shows

· Writing scripts, teases, and other show content to the highest standards.

· Checking, copy editing and improving scripts to make them accurate

· Breaking news and fast-response writing, crafting, and adjusting scripts in a high-intensity, live TV environment.

· A comprehensive eye across compliance from fact-checking to rights of reply and story balance, while not diluting story edge.

· Building story, guest and show segments using DiNA, our in-house system.

· Detailed understanding of how show guests’ comments and context to their views should feed into on-screen debate and discussion.

· Researching, reading, and pursuing relevant and compelling content.

· Communicating with fellow producers, guests, anchors, and operations staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Demonstrable first-class news writing skills and experience, either for, or that can be adapted to, TV scripts that balance brevity with storytelling, explanation and regulatory compliance.

· Demonstrable extensive journalism excellence.

· Comprehensive knowledge of news and current affairs, constantly across the latest stories with the ability to find and check details, sources and statistics rapidly.

· Understanding of OFCOM guidelines and excellent editorial judgement.

· A top standard of English news writing.

· Eligible to work in the UK.
